You are one decision away from a totally different life.

Saw this note on my Mom's refrigerator while I was visiting her in South Carolina. I don't know if she wrote it or not - but I'm going to just go ahead and give her credit.

Makes sense though if you think about it - and it could be different in a good way or different in a bad way depending on your decision.

It almost reminds me of a time travel movie - where you go back in time and alter one thing and change the entire existence of mankind.

Don't they call that the "butterfly effect"?

Trusting your gut during times of decision can be comforting and works up to 90% of the time - I like those odds. It may seem impulsive - but if you know what you're doing - why does it matter if you make a split second decision? Trust yourself.

You can even take this to the extreme when you make a conscious decision about something - for example the ONE time (so far) that I had an emergency situation during a skydive. This was the first time I was in a situation where I realized that my MAIN parachute wasn't working and I needed to rely on my backup. I HAD to make a split second decision and pull my reserve parachute. IT worked. I trusted my instincts and all the HOURS of training that I had put into learning how to skydive, executed and saved my life (and the life of the person strapped to my chest.)

One decision from a totally different life. I learned that trusting my instincts pays off, and putting in all the hard work (life) ahead of time prepared me for it.

Don't discount your gut decisions. And don't be afraid to make decisions. They can be life changing - sometimes for the worse, but most likely for the better.
